fianl evaluation of CAS in Grade 12

For this year i've been doing many kinds of CASs, it gives me opportunity this year for me to step up in the leading row.


Creativities - I've been the leading for pin hole camera for these two years and we decided to make a small exhibition for putting out final works together. I've learnt alot things, now i know who to mix the chemical for developing the pictures and using the appropriate light for each one. i've steped on to teaching people and adviceing them. Shamith and I always talk about the what should we do or what should we improve in each session. And in the last session we asked the grade 11 to contineu the CAS. I have Alice to continue next year.



Action-This is the secound SAISA of the year. I have achived my goal of going to SAISA football this year. And we got the third place. Holly Saba and I were the captans. We started to know more lower grade friends , because i didn't have much chance to see and know them as well as this. The practices was tuff but we finally made all of us to be in one team. Compare to last year, we have stronger as the individual but not as the team, but this year i can feel the team and love together. We always cared each other and asked how each of us do. 4 days in Chennai gave me much more experience. Cause we are in Grade 12, therefore there are alot more responsibility for us to taking care of youngers. Joyce broke her ankle, we all looked after her and carried bags for her. I could see a good friendship.

For my second SAISA is basketball. We chose the team last week and 12 of us made the first cut off. I was in the basketball team last year also. This year we have only 3 of Grade 12 left from the team last year. I know it will be much harder because we all have to start from the begining. I actually gave up somtimes because the amount of work and practices. Sometimes it's too much but i would regret when the Basketball Tournament is in our school. I'm cofused on shooting and passing, there are alot more that have to train.

My goal for the basketball is the learn how to play a post player because last year i think it didn't work that well

Service
In Library service,we made the poster of the service and put in the borad.
Read a thon, we have Ms. Lockwood to make a poster to advertise the event. I did most of the photoshop and the poster work. We also had to act On Wednesday morning about what is the read a thon and how does the money help people in the school.
This service will pass along to Keiko to organize it in the last term of this year.
For Library, we have done and learnt how to organize books and create something new to interact people.

Grade 12 CAS plan

This year will be the last year of all my Grade 12 friends, We've planed to do many CASs this year to give the spirit to the school. For CAS this year, I've already started all of them.

Creativity -
I'm running Pin-hole photography with Shamith in the school Elective every 2 Wednesday. We have been running it for a year and this year, we want to train the lower students how to use the pin hole camera and hopefully that year after us we will have some people taking over us. I personally think that taking pictures are the most delightful when you want to keep the memory and there are some many technique you can study and improve yourself in the same time. Over the summer, i went to many places and taking pictures would be efficient to me. I met many photographers that gave me a lots of suggestion and taught me how to use proper film camera. I think that film camera should come back. The camera has own beauty and more elegant to use. This year i will make a small project called 'Lost', it will be a collection of photos in Sri Lanka with many kinds of lost. I want to do because this is my last year, and i want to keep good memory and lost of people in many situation. Another thing about taking picture this year is secondary school. Holly and I will taking pictures for the secondary production this year again. We succeeded last year and hope that we will do it better. There are some good comments to inspire us to do it again.

For Action
My action for last year was SAISA football and SAISA basketball. This year most of people left the school. Holly and I have plan to create a new group team earlier and keep training until the season. Last year, we found that we had too little practice, that leads to don't have enough game skill. So we will arrange some people that interest in Basketball and football and play after school. Because this is our last year, we would like to do the best in the game and don't want to feel bad after finish the game. And this year, SAISA basketball will be at OSC. We will make OSC pround and see that we can do it.There are new students that interest in sports, so we hopefully that this year, SAISA football and basketball will be a good year. Apart from SAISA, this year i also will commit in Badminton after school. I've been palyed Badminton over 10 years, but latly I didn't have a chance to pratice, so i think that i would be nice that my sister and I can practice, Nikil is running the project, and i hope that we will have fun this year. Badminton will be every Monday after school. And i will start nex week. Since i came back from holiday, i've been to a gym from running and maintain my energy, because i will not a lot of sport this year. Also my family loves to go there for walking and swiming.

Service
Last year i didn't do much Service as i aimed, but this year I decieded to commit in SGA with Seong. I saw many things that need to improve and i want to help to make the school and students better. The first even wes selling drinks at BBQ and the dance. Seong and I had a shift 5 pm to 5.30 pm and 8 pm-9 pm for the dance. For selling drink that was no problem, but the dance was not success as we expect, there are many things that need to improve. e.g. music. I can mix music and I did it in Thailand. So the next even I will try to help in this part. Afterthat we decided to have Spirit day soon, and th costume will beFunky.And we are trying to design SGA shirt for all the SGA. My sister and I will design some and give it as an example. We have meeting every Monday lunch. There will be more evens coming soon. Another service is running pin-hole camera with Shamith. We alrrady talked in Creativity. And the last service will be in Library, helping Mrs. Lockwood on Thursday after school. I've already talked to her that I would like to help her this year.

I think this year i put much more affort to do CAS and it may be the last CAS until finish university, So i will do my best and having fun in the same times.

27-04/05/09

Last week for CAS on Monday my family and I decided to go in the park for running. We start to walk and run for 2 hours. I think i need to keep my body fit because SAISA next year that I want to do good and have a stronger team.

On Wednesday we had pin-hole camera. This week I told them to edit their own picuters and selected best 2. We had to convert the files from photoshop to JEPEG. I think have been improved how to use photoshop a lots.

On Thursday there was blood donation, people that can donate blood have to be above 18 years old and I just turned 18 for 3 weeks, it's good oppunity for me to donate for people that need. I went after Group 4 science project. I was scared in the fist time when I saw 3 bags that have to take my blood. But after donated i felt good because i could give to 3 people in the same time. In 4 months i can donate again. I feel pround of myslef that can really help ill people. After donated blood the school had Frech and Spanish concert. Mr. Durant asked me to taking pictures. I came early to take children played Petong. And then i took pictures from the concert. The problem was the light was not enough for taking picutre. Half of the pictures I took gone blur. So i edited them and gave to Mr.Durant on Monday.

For the approximate hour that I have done for Creativities I think that done two hours a week in cluding photography in class, publicity, hobbit.and saxophone lesson. So I think that i've done around 80-90 hours.

For Action I think that I had done a lots of sport from the SAISA. I praticed 2 hours a day, 4 days a week for 6 months. Also praticed on Thurday after school with Miss Dentz. I think i have done around 140-150 hours.

For service I was doing the library after school on Thursday every week for 2 terms. Also run Pin-hole camera elective class every Wednesday. For my Service I think i've done around 80 hours.

April's CAS

This month after came back from holiday I've been doing many CAS activities.

Fist,Shamith and I still running pin-whole camera, we have been collected pictures quite a while, for this Wednesday we will ask every one in the group to bring USB drive so they can download photos that they have been taken to edit the colour and adjust them. Our exhibition will be soon, so I think that it would be grade to learn. For next week, I will stay after school for taking some of my pin hole camera for the exhibition. To teach someone we need to have background and always try to improve yourself.

For Creativity, i have been taking pictures in my film camera, most of them are human expression and theme of couple, I think everything bound in pair and belong together, no one can stay alone in the society even plant. Mr.Durant asked me to take photoes in the Frech and Spanish day. I feel very good that somebody have seen work that i done and impress on me. I'm looking forward for taking photos on Thursday.

Action, Holly and I started to practice Basketball with Miss Dents. She is a good coach for us and always give advice to us for improve. We practice every Thursday after CAS. Holly and I have been talking about SAISA next year that we would like to make a good team but main problem is most of the player are in grad12 and 3 people of grad 1o will not able to play next year. So we need to start a bit sooner than normal and use time after school to play.

Electives

Pin-Hole photography

Elective Year 09-10

Shamith and I were participated in Photography in the first term and we felt interesting and wanted to share to other people so we decided to lead Pin Hole Photography elective in the next term.

This term most of people that we lead came from Grade11Th , 10Th and 9Th. We have around 15 people. First week we did the introduction of Pin-Hole camera and other elements. We asked them to bring can or lid that have no transparent cover. And then we did the example of Pin Hole camera and looked at old pictures we took.

The week after we started to make a camera by putting the hole and made them dark from inside. Then they started to upload paper in to the can, then taking pictures. The last part was we developed pictures that we took in 3 chemicals. The result always come in negative and pictures from the first week was really great. Many of pictures were interesting and could see that they made a good camera.

A week after we started early and we could see that they started to use more effect and can see that which kind of light use more time and make pictures look more interesting and accurate of timing. We also could see that they started to comfortable about that and made pictures more efficiently. We helped them about 3 weeks and then we just prepared for them.

I feel that when we run some elective is a new challenge thing to start with and get exciting with. And I think it's more fun to share your knowledge and helping people to get a good result.

I want to run this elective until the end of the year and then I plan to move to MUN because that is one of my dream future to work in UN or any kinds of helping people. And then I want to do prison's baby.

My target for this Pin-Hole camera is to make small exhibition for everyone in our elective to
show there works. And next year some people can run the elective after us.
